To Gods People: what has been the hardest thing for you since you became a believer?

Obedience to God's will, or Jesus' teachings, instead of doing and saying what I feel like doing.

As one example, there are others, the Bible says Jesus was reviled, but reviled not again. Something like that, meaning if someone is rude it's my first instinct to be rude and curt in return. But that's not what the Word says to do, so I try to curb it.

Enduring one of the fruits of the Spirit: long suffering. It states that the closer you are to atonement---at One with God--the more you will be persecuted. So in all sincerity, if you are a "true believer" society has it's way of holding you back. Most of Jesus's disciples were imprisoned. I am sick and tired of trying to climb the ladder of success and having my fingers stepped on by superficial, condescending, back-stabbing, kiss *** f**ks, that are threatened by your own genuine abilities to help rather than hinder progress.

Revenge and cussing are still problems for me. However today marks the 7th year since I quit drinking--before I got saved in public. I felt like I already was, but I went ahead and did it to make sure that other people knew and so I could have more peace of mind about it.

Watching everyone who claims to be a believer and follower of Christ completely forget the respect they're to show to their fellow mankind. God treats us with unconditional respect, allowing us to decide for ourselves whether or not to accept his gift of salvation. Yet, the first time someone questions it on Yahoo Answers, so many people are quick to judge, condemn, and disrespect those who are asking and/or doubting.
