U ≈ 3fA
f ≈ 15 (beats per second)
A ≈ 0.22 (meters per beat)
U ≈ 3*15*0.22 ≈ 9.9
to estimate that the airspeed velocity of an unladen "European" Swallow is 10 meters per second.

A shadow is caused by light bouncing off of an object. The shadow is the darkness de-luminating the surrounding light of an object.

Realistically the shadow has a velocity equal to the speed of light, but that doesn't matter. All that matters is the analogy it gives us, that ignorance, being the shadow that bounces off our mind, creates our delusions.

So that the light (God) pours through our mind, and that our ignorance (which is self imposed) creates the shadow of our reality, which compared to God is an illusion, and to us is false happiness.

The true way of life is the balance of this knowledge with the sound practical actions of a good human being. This is something we know, how to be morally good, and so we do this through our innate knowledge of morality which we learned and have been learning ever since we were born.

But with our mind, we are to go beyond this morality and understand the inherent reason for this lack of morality, imperfection, and eventual death of mortality. When this is known, we cleanse the mind, allow the "light of truth" to pass by, and thus freeing us from the shadow.

It's an analogy, but a very smart one. One that easily turns into myth and fantasy. However there is a true way that allows us to pass through the "needle of becoming" and achieve happiness on the other side.

The concept, "needle of becoming" is an analogy, and enlightenment is meant "happiness."

Dunno. Is an unladen swallow like a gulp?

Can't you just measure the air speed velocity of a spit and reverse it?

Or am I being silly?
