It depends on your definition. Most would say we lose an hour, because we set our clocks ahead. So, when we set it from 2AM to 3AM, we've LOST that hour.
That day will actually only contain 23 hours. But we'll make up for it in November when we have a day that contains 25 hours.
(It doesn't matter which coast you're on!)
The answerer above is incorrect. You will NOT gain an hour of daylight. The day won't be any longer than it would be if we didn't change our clocks. The daylight will simply begin later and end later, since we set our clocks forward.

We income an hour. were given fortunate. Been on Mountain time this previous week so became apprehensive i could get used to it which I did earlier than coming living house to the East coast. So i'm getting one among those hours again.

spring ahead, fall back. you set your clock ahead 1 hour in the spring. 7 a.m. now becomes 8 a.m. and you loose 1 hour of sleep, but you gain 1 hour of sunlight in the evening so it gets dark later on at night. does this make sense? hope i could help! p.s. i don't think it matters which time zone you are in, unless you live somewhere they do not observe D.S.T.
