Would a girl tell you that she has a boyfriend to make you want her more?

1. She wants you to know that she isn't easy to get and you better jump for her when you can.
2. She might be just saying that so you won't ask her out because she doesn't like you.
3. Or she might really have a boyfriend. If this is true, she might still like you but she is letting you know.

I know men do it all the time. It works for them because girls are very competative and alot of them would love the chance to show another up. But I've never seen it work for males. Most times if a girl says she has a boyfriend...she does and it all matters in which context she tells you...does she flirt it up with you then tell you and back off or does she keep you on a string the whole time. And if I want a guy to back off the first thing I tell him is I have a boyfriend(even if I don't), none have ever poured it on thicker or taken it as an invite.

None of my female friends have ever, or would ever, do that. If they wanted to make someone jealous or want them more, they might flirt with someone else a little but telling a guy that you're taken doesn't seem to have a purpose.
I'd guess that if someone says that and you know it's not true, they're just not interested.

YES! She would tell you that to find out if you ever care if she has a boyfriend. Alot of girls think they can make guys like them more by makin them jealous.

You would be surprised!!! If a girl wants you to want her she will do pretty much about anything.... and I mean anything!!! For some ladies out there it doesn't matter if they have a boyfriend or not. Women mostly can be very scandalest watch out. Be careful that one doesn't hurt you!

If she's into playing games she might be trying to make you jealous. Do you like girls like that then go for it, but be-careful.
If she a nice girl she might have said that because she doesn't have the courage to turn you down. I know I've done it.

Well it depends on the girl. I know quite a few girls who said they had boyfriends just to lose a guy or gain a guy. It all depends if you have the crush one her or she has the crush on you. If you have the crush on her she is rejecting you, and if she has the crush on you she wants you to want her.

If the girl is under 18 then she might tell you that, but if the two of you are adults then I doubt it.

Not usually. The only time I use that is when I want an easy out of an awkward situation, that doesnt need any explanation.
