Does anyone know anyone who has lost a beagle in the Ilkley area, its a dog, hes lemon and white and looks quite old. We don't want to take him to the police because they take them to the pound and they put them down, what do we do?

Police do not put down dogs! Report him to the police as found. Keep him with you if possible, if not, the police have access to a safe place to house him. He'll need to be checked for microchip.

Take him to a vets on monday and ask them to see if he's got a microchip.If so that will say who his owner is.
In the meantime just ask around.

make posters and put them up in the local area.
an ad in the local paper.
ask other local people who might know.
and look after the dog feed and walk it untill the owner comes back.

Put lost pictures around the neighbour hood of him, but in the mean time i think you should keep him with you.
