Okay, lets say we invite Jesus, Mohammed, Jacob, Sidartha (the Budha), Zoroaster, Nunak, the Hindu gods and goddesses, and everyone else to dinner. Hell, we'll even make a place at the table for nobody, just for the Atheists It's a large party.
What would you ask them (or a specific one)? What do you think they would say about the current state of the world today?

Okay, Atheists, I know you're very proud of your belief that there is no God(s), organized religons were just ment for pure evilness, etc... And that' cool. I'm cool with it. Just pretend, for one, little second, there was a higher being(s), alright? ALRIGHT?!
Also, many of the people I mentioned weren't gods, but the founders of religons today. There's a difference.

I think they would be appalled about what has been done with their words.
I think they would be amazed at the state of our planet. But frankly I am an optimist and content that we are in general much better off given that our lifespans have increased so much in 2000 years, even if there are still a lot of issues to work out.

I think that would be a bitching tea party.
They would probably say a silent prayer and then bid each other farewell. I think they became gods to avoid human suffering, not get wrapped up in the stupidity of them.
And if anything, they would send down an avatar to help us. Come to think of it, none as visited. But you know what, yahoo avatars are a plenty.

Well, that would be some party! Especially since the believers in each dispute the others' existence? So my question would be answered just by seeing which ones actually are deities.
What I often wonder is... what would the founders of the USA say today?

They probably would say that nothing has changed for the better, that man kind is as conceded as ever and were all going to find out what its really about when we get to the other side... I would ask " why all the different names for the same being (GOD) when there is only one supreme being?"

Pretty sure that they wouldnt even attend....
I think 'religion' as a whole is out of whack... and not what was intended at all... men have taken God and transformed Him into something they can live with instead of conforming to what God would have us be

first of all, faith is a lot extra beneficial than in straight forward terms a collection of ideals. reducing them to easily that's a undesirable over-simplification. Even for me, as an unbeliever. Now, atheism isn't a perception. Atheism is somewhat loss of ideals in a mystical or superior entity that's previous evidence. Christians have faith that Christ is God's son, and that they act on that perception. Atheists do no longer "have faith there's no god". they only "do no longer have faith there's a god". See the version? One is an energetic recommendations-set in favour of an concept. the different is the absence of this concept. Atheists do no longer provide a rattling approximately god. Theirs is a passive recommendations-set approximately godly issues. as properly, religions are additionally one among those behaviour conditioned and desperate by making use of that trouble-free perception. Atheists have no conditioned behaviour, different than purely no longer accepting god. they do no longer pass to church. they do no longer pray. they don't have a holy e book... they do no longer seem to be a faith. Now, isn't it humorous that I, of all and sundry, am telling you, a Christian, what religions are? in case you do no longer even see this, i ask your self what kind of a Christian you're. yet having pronounced that, i do no longer recommendations. i'm no longer judging. i'm expressing my ask your self. EDIT: (isn't this answer long?) Atheism is a philosophy. And specific. you will possibly be able to desire everywhere you desire, as long as you do no longer assume US to do something approximately it. I propose, no praying on our element, no particular silence, no longer something. Do it, I won't condition you. yet provided which you do no longer attempt to condition me, ok? what share circumstances have you ever pronounced when you handed an examination, which you handed it "thank god"? and that i do no longer think of you have been punished for that, have been you? that's somewhat humorous which you Christians, of all and sundry, are shouting "censorship!" that's YOU who've imposed on US your religious festivities (Christmas, Easter, Dec. 8th -despite that's called), your Christian names, your seven-day week (does 7 ring any bell?) your religious expressions, or expressions coming from religious techniques ("thank god", "see you later -i.e.: God be by making use of you", etc.) as properly, faith isn't in straight forward terms what that's meant to be. it is likewise the biggest company that has endeavoured to brainwash minds ever on condition that Jesus's circumstances. So, that's what i desire to provide up, no longer your religious rituals.
