YES!!! YES!!! YES!!!
I have been listening to loud music for years. It started when I was a teenager listening to my portable radio pressed against my left ear.
I now have permanent nerve damage, constant tinnitus, 60% hearing loss in that ear, and Meniere's disease.
The ONLY reason for this is listening to transister radio very loudly and too close to my ear.

Almost all members of rock bands that have played for several years have some kind of hearing loss. People who always sit or dance close to the big speakers used by rock bands will develop hearing loss over time. I have a friend whose hearing has been diminished because he was a music teacher (orchestras, bands) for over 30 years.

ABSOLUTELY!!!! My husband is 43 and his parents used to yell at him all the time for listening to music too loud. Now we can see the damage. He has to keep the TV really loud to hear it and we have to speak loudly so he can hear us. He knows thats what its from and now says the same thing to our kids.
