Her suspension will probably be extended. She may even get revoked. Get an attorney and try your best.

ok, here's the deal. The DMV is known for taking a long time to notify people of suspensions. It happened to my friend. Because you're girl is young, the judge will probably say that she needs to pay a fine, on top of what the DMV wants for the suspended license. My friend got pulled over many times and recieved points and fines and the DMV had enough and fined her $1500. They kept her license suspended until she payed it.
In most cases they can't drive AT ALL with a susp. lic. There might be an excpetion for school and work, but it depends on the judges mood and why your daughter recieved the susp. lic. in the first place. If she is pulled over again with a suspended license, she'll be arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation which is a misdeamenor in NYS. It might be different where you live. Check your local law. Besides that, I'd say be polite to the judge and don't fight it. Your daughter may be your little girl, but she did something to get the suspended license. You should talk to her about driving safety and such. Just an idea... Good luck, and safe driving.

This is very serious. How did she not know her license had been suspended? This doesn't sound right to me and I think you have been fed a line of bs. I would strongly suggest that you all hire an attorney and pretty quickly and tell your daughter that she better be honest with the attorney. Lying will only get her into more trouble. I do wish you all well. This is a hard lesson for her to learn at such an early age.

"she recently had her license suspended but did not realize it until she was stopped for a broken windshield"

Service for suspended is either by court order at the hearing or certified mail if she failed to appear. She failed to appear didn't she? What part of that didn't she realize?

Start being a parent and let her face the music. Asking questions here won't help you or her. Here's a thought...
Ever thought of asking a lawyer?

She can expect for her license to stay suspended and for her to have to pay the fines. Her best bet is for her to try to get any points back if she has any left, however, there had to have been tickets that she got leading up to her being suspended and those will have to be paid too.
You can't sue anyone because it is not the police departments job to notify her of her suspension.

No you wont visit penal complex. in case you may get your license formerly going to court docket that is going to easily in all probability be a 250 greenback wonderful. If no longer you would be fined lots larger then that and have extra time extra on your suspension. It befell to me formerly.

i'd just go with her and explain the situation. they are very nice at the court dates, and i don't have a single blemish on my record b/c at the hearing they always drop the charges (speeding usually)

if it doesn't get dropped, you might want to hire a lawyer for the trial, just to help you get out of it. if you're unlucky it could be jail/juvie, but just for a week..

but first things first.. go to the court date and a liaison will meet with you. tell them the situation remembering that they are actually on your side.. and then they will talk to the judge and hopefully your daughter stand before the judge and get a little lecture and that will be it. if not, then have her plea not guilty and get ready for the second round (trial) or just ask what the fine or penalty for the offense is and plea guilty and pay it (if that's all they want)

When you have you license suspended you know it, maybe she did not tell you, was afraid to tell you, teach her to be a adult and tell her now you have to deal with the consequences, sounds harsh, no not really.

She will be suspended alot longer, if it is just not revolked completely. she will get a very large fine and maybe probation to be sure she does not drive again.
