It has to be from a contemporary musical.

Thanks for your suggestions!

"Memory" from "Cats" really shows range and expression, but I'm not sure how contemporary that is. I also love "I Dreamed a Dream" which Fantine sings in "Les Miserables." Maybe something from "Rent" or "Wicked" would be more contemporary, though.

What about the wardrobe song from Beauty and the Beast? Or from the late 70's musical by Stephen Sondheim " A little Night Music" the hit tune "Send in the Clowns". Both are mezzo/alto range. I hope they still classify as contemporary, but I guess I'm showing my age....
Best wishes and keep on singing

"There Are Worse issues i ought to Do"- Grease "understand"- Aretha! "on my own"- Les Miserables- variety of over performed "a sprint Fall of Rain"- Les Miserables- relatively ever performed something quite modern-day, because of the fact maximum songs are certainly written for mezzos i'm hoping you get in! Bonne threat, destroy a leg!
