He said that getting the badge earned you a lot of respect in Basic Training and that not many people could get it. Looking at what you need to get a maximum score, it doesn't seem too hard to get a perfect score. Is what he said true?

Persons who earn 90 points or better on _every_ event in the Army Physical Fitness test are awarded the 'Army Physical Fitness Badge" and allowed to wear it on that physical fitness uniform (and only the physical fitness uniform) as long as they continue to retain those scores.

This is _not_ an easy award to earn!

You do get a ribbon saying that you scored above a certain score, I think it is actually 295+, I am not sure on the number but yes in Basic you get special awards for scoring well, this also carries over to after basic. It is pined on your formal jacket along with your marksmanship and campaign ribbons.

It is actually harder then you would think, You do they all the same day, with only a ten minute break between the three events. to get a 100 on each is actually relatively difficult, yes people do it, and when you do get a 300 then they will show you what actual score you would have gotten if they went above a 300, I know a girl that maxed out on the guys side, and would have scored a 350. If you can do it, then do it, it also gives you more points for promotion.

He is telling the truth. You have to get at least a 270, that's at least a 90 on each event. you get to wear the badge on your PT. It's difficult but not impossible. It's a test, so whatever you do don't stop to think about anything. I've managed to get 100 plus on sit ups and push ups but only 80 to 85 on my run. Just keep trying. You will feel great.

maximum folk use it to assert they have been given an A...it could propose the two one although. i in my opinion use it to assert i've got been given a hundred%. quite some faculties do no longer even use the pluses and minuses so, to assert you aced it stands out as the precise score and can in straight forward terms propose they have been given an A :)

Never heard of getting a badge for getting a perfect on you PFT. Seems like a waste of ribbon to me.
