I went through this process.

Your loan will not automatically get yanked because of failing grades. You will be put on hold and/or academic probation. You will have to fill out a little form saying it won't happen again and that you will make up the failed grade (say take a class in summer school). They want you to say you will pay for that class yourself, but I never did...

This can happen up to two terms in a row. You are in a little troube if it happens three terms in a row. This happened to me. I was kicked out, officialy, of college. But all I had to do was see an academic advisor. They told this committee that i'd do better. They agreed. I filled out some papers and agreed to continue to see and acadmic advisor for a year.
So, I failed out of college And still didn't get a loan yanked.
Do Not Worry!!!!

There are three places you should go, well two and the third is optional:
1. Go to financial aid office. Don't just talk to the guy/gal at the desk. Ask to see a financial aid counselor. They can explain this to you.
2. Go to academic advising office. See an academic adviser. They can explain process to you. You want to see academic adviser at least once a term. This will help you build a relationship if you do get in trouble and will be good to get recommendation letters later on. They can help you figure out all kinds of school related business.
3. Counseling center (just suggesting this because of your suicidal thoughts).

Please don't worry. I got much more than one F and no loans were yanked. Oh, and I did graduate college with a 3.2 GPA and got into Grad. school.

don't sweat yet... schools have their own way of handling this. Usually, if you don't do too well your financial aid office will put you on probation first and you will have 2 or 3 terms to make it up. If you already received this warning of probation and you failed then you would lose your loans/federal grants. BUT you can appeal it. It's called a "Standard's of Academic Process" appeal. If you lose your aid, tell your fa office you want to appeal it and they will give you a form to complete. You will have to explain why you failed the class, and have any 3rd party docs to support your reasoning. Then they will decide if it's approved or not. If you have any more questions, email me.

do not sweat yet... colleges have their own way of dealing with this. usually, in case you do not do too properly your economic help place of work will placed you on probation first and also you've 2 or 3 words to make it up. in case you already received this caution of probation and also you failed then you definately could lose your loans/federal promises. yet you are able to attraction it. it truly is stated as a "commonly used's of tutorial procedure" attraction. in case you lose your help, tell your fa place of work you want to attraction it and they provide you with a form to finish. you are able to clarify why you failed the classification, and characteristic any third party medical doctors to help your reasoning. Then they are going to make certain if it truly is approved or no longer. once you've any more suitable questions, e-mail me.

work HARD to get your grades up, show your professors that you will put effort into passing and who knows they might just cut you some slack.
