Why are people taking such offence to things on here??

I am not trying to pick apart anyones religions, neither do i slate you for having your beliefs.

I have every right as an athiest, to come on this board to have debates with people. It is nothing personal, so why take it that way?

I have my beliefs just as you have yours.

I just checked through your questions. I noticed that your before last question starts with "What right do you people have to say that..."
So you are implying that others don't have the right to say what they say, but you do.
There is no problem with debate, but in your questions, or in the comments you write following your questions, you do sound kind of offensive. It doesn't really sound like debating language. That's your privilege. But if you choose to do that, I don't think you should get upset because people will give you some strongly worded answers.

I have only been on this site for about a month, but I hvae gotten a TON of shi*ty emails from people about my beliefs re the US and Iraq and othings of this nature. You are correct in saying that you have EVERY right to express your opinion, with out having to beat up. I see a lot of that on here. People seem to feel powerful when they are on a message community. I believe that in real life, these same people would sit without saying a word even if you highly offended them. Just ignore it, voice your opinions and dont worry about what these other people are saying, you know? I dont.

The right to free speech means you have the right to say whatever you like. If someone takes offense of it, too bad. We are protected by the Constitution of the United States to have the ability to say whatever we want. It may not be the smartest thing to come out of a person's mouth, but they have the right to say it.

Well, the Christians like to bash anything non-christian, and whine when they get bashed.

The atheists like to bash anything Christian, and whine when they get "oppressed."

The Buddhists (and me) like to try and help people understand the different viewpoints.

The Taoists (and me) do the same.

The Confucianists (and me) like to try and teach people that it realy doesn't matter, because things'll turn out the way that they were meant to, and in the end, you'll be content.

The Shintoists (which IS me) like to sit back after all this is done and just enjoy people's reactions. :P

i agree 75%

its just that with peoples religons.. thats their faith. they put their souls into believing in it and take great offense when people question it although you have a right to argue.. you need to realize that although you may not believe you cant really question their faith in it but rather facts about the religon it self

personally i dont have a problem with religon its just that people get crazy when something contradicts something theyve believed in for years.. then i dont deal with religon too much

You have no rights at "Level One" and with only a week or so here on R&S. Pay your dues for a bit before you come on in here complaining. Be nice.

You have the right to state your position but not bash others in the process.
