What are the chances that R&S will ever have the exact same people online at the same time ever again? Or the exact same proportion of theists to atheists to Christians to Buddhists et al?

I say make it a live chatroom. Hook up a few more computers in the house and then you can all talk.

More or less has become that way lol. I've even known of husbands and wives to be both home yet on the computer and that is where they talk. Sad isn't it.

Tell them you're researching for a paper on religions of the world, and you need to get other people's input on how religion affects their lives personally.

Well if you invited your friends over, I would certainly think you should get off the computer...IF you ever want them to come back again...If you don't want them to visit you again...stay on and ignore them...I'm sure they will find other "friends" that are more "friendly" and "caring".
