If you want to risk the health of your unborn baby, by all means lose the weight. Otherwise, don't be stupid and focus on the baby. Geez. This is really a flat out dumb a** question. Someone call DCFS please.

You don't want to lose weight when you are pregnant. Make sure that you eat a healthy diet, lots of fruit, veggies, and lean proteins. I am sure that your ob/gyn has told you to take folic acid to reduce/prevent Spina Bifida and other genetic problems. Now is not the time to be worried about losing weight. It can be very dangerous for you and the baby. Give that baby a fighting chance by doing everything you can to make sure that he/she has a good healthy start. After the baby is born you can worry about losing weight. The best thing to do to lose weight after the baby is born is to make a whole lifestyle change. Don't think of it as a diet, but as an improved way of life. Good luck.

There is so much going on in a pregnant woman's body. It is important that your body does not go through anything that is drastic and unusual while pregnant-other than the pregnancy itself.

Many highly active people can maintain some level of that during pregnancy-even working out. However, once pregnant you should not begin such programs. There are yoga classes for pregnant women and such a class is highly beneficial for many reasons.

The amount of weight you need to gain will depend on your pre-pregnancy weight/BMI. Any questions you have about your weight should be addressed with your physician.

You have to remember that during pregnancy, there is much more weight in your entire body due to extra blood, fats/proteins, the placenta, breast tissue and many other things-most importantly the baby.

Self esteem is a highly sensitive issue for women-especially during and after pregnancy. Take care of yourself and enjoy your experience.

Women are supposed to GAIN weight, about 30 lbs worth, during pregnancy. You will have a lot of opportunity to lose it after the baby is feeding on its own.

Short of having an abortion, nothing. Don't even try weight loss while pregnant. Follow your OB's advice about nutrition to gain the normal and expected amount of weight throughout your term.

I do not recommend dieting while pregnant. You should really speak to your doctor. Your baby needs nutrients and now is not the time to think about this. Please wait.
