I'm 19 and I've had a relationship with a man of 47 for a year now. I love him, and age has never been a problem to me. He is divorced, but he has two children with his ex-wife, and I can't help thinking that I am intruding on his life and I've taken him away from his family in some way.

It hurts me to think about leaving him, but I wonder if it would be the best thing to do.

Your 19. You have so many opportunities ahead. It's the best thing for YOU to leave him. Think about it. In 20 years, you'll be 39 and him 67. You'll probably still be working, but he'll already be sitting home retired. Just so many things to consider. He's probably loving it to have such a young woman in his life. He may be counting on you to "keep him alive", such as adding spark to his older years. Your definitely NOT intruding on his life. I think his life is intruding on your happiness.
I was 18 once and married a 30 year old with 3 kids (not living with us). All he did eventually was bring me down. He already lived his teens and 20's. Whenever I acted my age (such as silly, etc), he was always aggravated, and wished I would act more mature. That's stupid. I wasted 5 years with him. He was such a pervert. Most teenage girls do not have, nor appreciate, the sex drive of an older man. We're just not ready. I was so happy when I had the courage to leave at age 23. I chose a guy that was 18 (5 years younger). I was and am so happy and never regretted it. Good Luck.

Don't you think that's a real big age difference. ok stay with your generation now a man that's about 28 yrs older than you can be a problem. thing is he has two children that r what probably younger or around about your age. It might not bother you now but what if you two got married and you had to help raise them, they probably wouldn't listen to you. That's how i would look at it b/c i couldn't be in a relationship with someone who's way older and has kids around about my age or so. you really need to think about this.

I think a huge factor should be how old his children are. I am almost 19 and my mother is only 40. If his children are your age or older, even if there like 16, I could never imagine my mohter or father dating someone my own age.

Well the age difference is really big. I would think about the children first and see if they're okay with it. Also I would ask your heart if you don't want to leave him then don't. Oh, ya write the pro's and con's of being with him. Then see which one is better then the other. Good Luck!

omfg DUMP HIM! No offense but 19 vs. 49 is too big a difference even if you do love him. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if he didn't have kids, but come on! You are not old enough to be a mother, and your 'kids' would never look up to you. And if you feel regrets towards dating him, then you should definitely leave him.

Good Luck

i think you should leave him because you just have strarted your life and everthing you want in a relationship he already had with another women then you would find yourself trying to compete with everthing you do and did you sit down and think that this man is older enough to be your daddy come lets be smart here he is clearly using you for something
P.S LOVE IS PAIN
