If Sarah tricked Abraham into giving the first born birth right to Jacob instead of Ishmael who deserved the birth right because he was the first born by Hagar - Why would such deception be rewarded? It tells us that Sarah was jealous of Hagar and at one time sent her away. Then she tricked Abraham into giving to wrong child the birth right. If Abraham was not sick or blind - he would of gave the birth right to Ishmael And God still tells Ishmael he will have a strong nation. But the fact remains that Sarah was a lier and a deceiver. I am not Muslim it is just an interesting question and would like to see what people think.
For those who do not know - Mohamed comes from Ishmael and Jesus comes from Jacob. Ishmael and Jacob were the sons of Abraham.
It also tells us that Hagar was Ethiopian.

Ishmael was Abraham's son thru the servant, Hagar... Isaac was the son of Abraham thru Sarah. God promised the right to Isaac before he was even conceived.... and even before Ishmael was conceived. Sarah did not trust God's promise and 'did things her way' by giving Hagar to Abraham to have a son (it was customary to have children thru servants if you couldnt have children in that time era)
Jacob and Esau would have been Sarah's grandsons, they were the sons of Isaac and Rebekkah

yeah , i think you should look again at the Bible , it is Esau not Ishmael . Ishmael is from Abraham , and Esau is of Rebekah and Isaac. The main sons of Abraham were Ishmael and Isaac , not Jacob.
Basically , the story is : Esau was in the desert , and he was hungry . Jacob had some food , but didn't want 2 share w/ his brother . The only way that Jacob would give Esau some food , was if he sold the birthright to Jacob. Now is the tricky part . Isaac was getting ready 2 die , and he was going 2 pass on the blessing 2 his oldest son , which was Esau. Rebekah heard him say that the time had come to bless his eldest , and he wanted some wild game . Rebekah told Jacob to go and find the meat before Esau, and then she took Esau's clothes and put them on Jacob , along with the goat skins . Then Jacob went to his dad and said he was his older brother , and Isaac , since he was blind anyway , felt him , and he ( jacob) felt like esau , and gave him the blessing. Esau came back and tried to get the blessing , but of course by then it was too late .

I think you're getting the Isaac/Ishmael story mixed up with the Jacob/Esau story. The Bible does not mention Ishmael or Isaac's birthright. Now, when Issac and Rebekah have two sons, Esau and Jacob, Esau is entitled to the birthright because he was born first with Jacob grasping his heel. Esau sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of soup.
Later on, when Isaac was old and poor in sight, Rebekah had Jacob put on animal skins trick his father in blessing him instead of Esau.
As for why this deception was rewarded by God, I don't know. Jesus tells his disciples to so be "shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves." And he tells of the parable of the dishonest manager in which a corrupt manager is commended for his shrewness with his master's money.

Abraham was promised by God a child in his home through his wife Sarah even though she was barren. Sarah and Abraham actually were a little unfaithful and impatient so he got Hagar pregnant. This was not the chosen or prophesied child. Ishmael was the bast*** child and foretold to be a "wild child". Isaac is the chosen child of Sarah and Abraham. Read Genesis in The Holy Bible.

No. You have the families of Abraham and Isaac twisted all out of shape.
The two sons born unto Abraham were:
(1)Ishmael which was born unto a bondslave of Sarah's named Hagar.
Genesis 16:15 - And Hagar bare Abram a son: and Abram called his son's name, which Hagar bare, Ishmael.
(2)Isaac which was born unto Sarah as God had promised.
Genesis 17:19 - And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Naw. Esau was Jacob's twin, and the first born of the two, but God decided that Jacob was the righteous and made him the Father of Israel, shoot, He even changed his name to Israel. The Twelve Tribes are descended from Jacob. Jacob is Isaac's son, you know. The Living God is the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, just to keep things straight.

Jacob's brother is Esau, and their father is Issac. Abraham is Issac's and Ishmael's father. Abraham begat Issac and Ishmael, Issac begat Jacob and Esau. I realize that I didn't answer your question but wanted to clear up the confusion.

Abraham born 352 years after the flood at age 75 is 427 after flood. Gen.12:4;
Abraham age 86 Gen.16:16; Has Ishmael by Hagar the Egyptian. Ishmael born 438 years after the flood dies at age 137 Gen.25:17; 575 years after.

Jacob age 130 and 642 years after flood, with Family was placed in Rameses Egypt 215 years after the Promised Land covenant, Gen.47:9, 11,28; by Joseph the 11th son of the 12 tribes of Jacob as Israel, who was governor of Egypt for 10 years before, [ he was sold by the three oldest sons at age 17, he was in prison 13 years on false charges, then made governor because he did reveal the kings dream to him of a time of plenty for seven years, then famine for seven, so the Pharoah gave him powerer to deal with the situation ].
The Promised Land covenant heirs will be in Rameses Egypt 215 years to Moses age 80 and Exodus.

the question must be asked if a man can sell his birthright and any claim to it for any price?
it also must be asked if God Honors Patriarchal Blessings, as a legal will in a court of law is honored and people still deceive and trick their way into fortune and fame.
who gets anna nicole smiths baby? and the money? The real father or the lover and boyfreind?
in reality God promised the land to Abraham and his sons. There is enough land in the earth to live in Peace even if a hundred billions people lived on it. in FACT the only way a hundred billion people can survive in the future is if they live in PEACE.
but in the bible it is written that God has layed the axe at the tree, in preparation to destroy everyone that offends. To everything that offends.

Abraham's was not the father of Jacob...Issac was.
