No I think its a genuine documentary. However this is a very interesting question so I am going to star it.

I really USED to think that some of the stuff that happened stuff in early episodes were genuine, because not a lot happened, you'd get the odd orb floating about and unexplained bangs now and again. Later episodes are EXTREMELY suspect. Too much happens, in that all of a sudden they could communincate directly with spirits by knocking on walls. If it was that easy we'd all be doing it. All of the crew have got big headed too what with, Yvette thinking she's the star of the show, scaring people and saying "Did you hear that noise?" every two seconds.
Derek Acorah was a fake from the beginning. Do I believe he is seeing these spirits? NO! Do I believe in ghosts? I'm open minded, but I don't think that Most Haunted is credible enough to convince me that there are lost spirits just wandering about in the ether.
Overall it's till entertaining to watch for laughs, although any credibility it had in the beginning has long gone!

After watching on live web cam it is most definitely set up.
They were going to do a seance around a small table that was already placed on a landing a the top of some stairs.
All the crew, psychic and Ivette stood around the table so it was out of view. They then tipped the table to one side and started fiddling about with it , we could not see on cam what they were doing. Once they had sat down they asked for some spirit to move the table, this did not work straight away and Karl kept trying to look under the table . They asked again and Ivette shouted "did you feel that -the table moved".
When they were leaving the cam view was obstructed again,
this time everyone walked away and Karl was leaning against the wall where he had been sitting . This looked odd until he went to walk away. He was holding his left arm (the one out of view) close to his body as if he were trying to hide something. ( probably something to make the table move).
The psychic would not be scared out of his wits every time there was a noise, he would also be able to give some clue as to what is in the room most of the time he hasn't any idea what it is ,where it is, or what it looks like.
The programme is also more dangerous now with things being thrown........I strongly recommend they make all investigation sites a Hard Hat Zone.

You have to realise that these people are just trying to making money from gullible individuals.
Its a bit like the scandal which broke this week regarding premium line phone calls to television shows. Quite simply television producers are just trying to rip viewers off!
Most haunted is aimed at teenagers who watch horror movies and who think that 'this might just be true' and also the religious fraternity who believe in all this mumbo jumbo as part of their primitive faith belief.
Take my advice friend. Life is short. Don't waste it watching this junk!!

The psychic they took into the Manor House, which used to be an orphanage, was totally grasping for straws. He was randomly making stuff up and seeing if anything got a facial responce of recognition from the PR lady. My beef with that show is the camera angles. i don't want to see the facial expressions of someone who witnessed something across the room, I want to see the ghostly event.

Its absolute rubbish. They are trying to use the format of the old BBC 1 Halloween shocker of the mid nineties: Ghost Watch (Sarah Greene, Mike Smith and Michael Parkinson - fact fans).
At least that was innovative.

Its a tv show trying to get ratings. They try to make it just real enough so that people can feel the possibility of it being real and feel scared. People like to go to scary movies because its fun being on that edge of scared but knowing you are safe in reality. This show plays to that. I don't think the show is actually very genuine or real. Its just entertainment.

I can't take anything they do on that show seriously. Like the "psychic" guy who gets possessed by spirits. Yeah, right.
I think a better show is "Ghost Hunters."

Everyone has said it all already. It's completely phoney and simply plays on our overactive imaginations. We like the idea that it is real and scarey and that is how it works. Nothing credible happens.... it's all tripe.
