Absolutely not!! Your body is making a baby and it needs extra calories to feed your baby. You are supposed to gain weight while pregnant for the baby. Its not a good idea to diet at all. It will deprive your unborn baby of many things. When you diet your body releases a chemical that can harm your baby. You can choose healthier food to eat and start walking. But if your body is not used to exercise it is not a good time to start. I think you would be selfish to try to lose weight while pregnant. Wait until the baby is born.

Absolutely not! However, if you speak to your doctor he will tell you how to regulate your diet so you don't gain too much weight. If you are overweight, you should be gaining about 15 pounds during the pregnancy. Anything less would hurt the baby.
The reason for this is because to lose weight, you have to burn more calories than you consume. However, if you are burning more calories than you consume while pregnant, your baby won't be getting any of those calories to nourish their growing body. A fetus can't thrive on stored up fat cells in your body.

I am the mother of four and I say it's not okay to DIET while pregnant. But you must eat sensibly, limit high salt snacks (potatoe chips, etc.), and sweets (candy, cookies, etc.). Eat plenty fruit and vegetables, drink plenty water and juice. There are some exercise that is good for pregnant women. Walking is good whether you're pregnant or not.

hey,
I was over weight when I was pregnant.
you can not go on a diet while you are pregnant, you can however eat right!
no junk food
exercise in moderation(1/2 hour a day)
don't cut back on calories because your baby needs them to grow
choose fruits and vegetables and milk products more often

Don't diet2. Change your diet1. For difference see dictionary. Nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat. Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Salt has no calories but makes you fat and burning more calories does not help this fatness.
Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad fats, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event. Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculator to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age).
You can force your body to lose weight with not enough calories, but if you continue it, you will starve to death. With an abundance of healthy foods, you lose weight just as fast, but only until you reach your ideal weight. You can continue eating this way the rest of your life and always be at your ideal weight.

You need to consult a doctor, but I would say the best thing right now would be to eat healthy.
For now, I would just:
-Do not eat junk food including candy, soda
-no fries, pizza, pasta
-Walk a lot
That should be enough while you are pregnant. After you have your baby, breast feed (I've heard it helps lose weight), and eat healthy.

Of course! Many women exercise during pregnancy. Of course, you should choose your exercises carefully and find out what's safe and what you should avoid. Also, a good healthy diet will be good for you and your baby.
