Listen, I'm in the Army and being an 11B is a very dangerous job. There are so many different jobs that you can do in the army look into before you make a decision. We are at war right now and DO NOT rush into anything. Go on line and look at what the army has to offer you. Listen, I'm fixing to leave to Iraq for the second time. Make sure this is what you want to do. good luck man!

Whats the difference between what, being infantry and being a mail clerk? A lot of differences depending on what else your looking into as an MOS. I personally was in the Marines, I turned down a scholarship to the Naval Academy because I wanted to just be a grunt, I ended up with the 0311, 0331, 0351, and 0352 specialties before it was over and I wouldnt want to change a thing. If thats what you want then go grunt.

The difference between what?
I was 11 Bravo, I loved it. But infantry isn't for everyone. I went on to Jump School, Ranger School and eventually served with the 3rd Rangers for 6 years.
It really depends on what you want to do with your military career.

I was an 11 Bravo -Did my duty, that duty sometimes being not so pleasant; nevertheless I did it. If you're searching whether or not to serve on the "front" or in the "rear?" I would suggest you speak candidly and openly with your recruiter, letting him know you desire candid and open answers, always keeping in mind that recruiters have a job -To Recruit. You've got to make up your own mind for yourself. Nobody else can do it for you.

If your going Infantry, go Marines. Im enlisting in the Corps after school in the 0300, 11 MOS Class of the Marines (Infantry). The Army is great for getting skills to translate into civillian life and all that, but if your going to be a grunt; why not be the best of the best?

Training is shorter, If you don't want to be infantry there are other things you can do. You could be a tanker, or Field artillery.
If you have a higher asvab score there are other options open to you as well.

You would have to go with an 11x contract I assume. 11B is infantryman, direct fire. Such as a rifleman, but there is also 11C, which is indirect fire, such as a mortarman.
