Are girls attracted to looks first, or do they like a guy who has self confidence, describe what you like in a guy

i'm personally not attracted to looks first. i like guys who are confident yes. but mostly just a good personality.. my first and foremost thing that a guy gets me with is a sense of humor. i also like guys who are sweet and who are easy to trust and who i connect to.

Everyone in this world is diverse, and that means that each girl is going to look for different things in a partner. Some girls like money and power (gold diggers), some like the good looking ones (most likely to get played) and some value personality the most. But it's usually a balance of all three, I'll tell you what I like most in a guy.
1. Confidence, but not arrogance.
2. Sense of humour. This doesn't mean cracking jokes every five minutes, but no one wants to be going on a date with a robot.
3. Having hobbies, i.e. not being a loser inside at home all the time, going out and enjoying themselves. Not necessarily really popular (although that is attractive), but obviously a social person.
4. Flirtatious, to a certain extent - but not a player...we don't want to be just another tick off your list! Someone whos not just out for sex.
5. Attractive. Even if you weren't blessed with God's gift, smelling nice, wearing clothes that don't look like they've been foraged from a dustbin, being well groomed and well spoken all contribute to a guy's attractiveness.
6. A sexy attitude. Some guys just give off a really sexy demeanour, for example, Channing Tatum and Justin Timberlake. The looks do help a bit, but it's just that sexy spark that makes them so attractive. I can't put my finger on what it is, but if you just watch them you could pick up some tips.
7. Not fake. Being yourself, that's the most attractive thing a girl could ask for.
Hope that helps, of course it's only from one girl's point of view, but collaborated with the other answers I'm sure it will give you a good picture.
However, there is no Ideal Man, as I said at the beginning, every girl will have her turn offs, and turn ons, and it's just up to you to find the girl who's turn ons match your attributes :-)

I like a guy who is self confident and good looks are a plus. A romantic guy is so sexy a guy who is not afraid to cry when the moment calls for it. A guy who is not stuck on how good his hair looks, or if he is the best looking dude in the room. I like a guy who is funny and can make me laugh and most of all I like a guy who is NOT selfish in bed and I don't mean he hogs the covers.

It depends on the girl as much as it depends on the guy you are talking about. Most girls are attracted to looks first, but the guy has to have the personality to back it up. I prefer guys who are smart, have a good sense of humor, have wit, are understanding and kind, and share my faith.

when i see a guy for the first time, i look if they are confident, then looks,
then if, or when i get to know them...their personality is what matters in the end.

I must say that the looks are what draw me in, but I won't be attracted if they are total jerks. So personality is mainly what I look for, but I am just too shallow to not care what a guy looks like.

Looks are definately a shoe in..aren't they for both genders? To have to pick an actual quality that is most appealing it would have to be self confidence...not to be confused with an ego. I like a guy who knows what he wants and practises it in front of me.

I am attracted to intelligence in a man, looks aren't so important to me. The thing I look for is integrity and strength of opinion. If a guy can be challenging, he will interest me more.

Good looks first is what we all notice and then the guy's personality, esp. sense of humor and then his self confidence...
I like guys that are outgoing and easy to talk to, but has that kinda tough exterior but a softy inside.....

of course the first ting u see in a guy is how thy look n every one has their own preference i like the blond hair kinda guys, shaggy hair is rly cute. n i lke confidence n honesty in a guy, loyalty is also rly important
