I have just read a question on here that has made me cringe, should homosexuals go to hell?

What a disgusting thing to say let alone think. These are people you are talking about, not objects!

I thought that your religions were about love and living happily as one.

I am glad that i don't believe in your gods, i'm proud to be an atheist, if thats what your religion teaches you, then i am better off out of it and away from it.

Who are you to say that being gay is right or wrong!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not necessarily the religions that are doing that. It's some of the followers who are doing that.

First of all, I'm pretty sure that guy wasn't a Christian and was asking Christians about it.
Second: It is a sin to be a homosexual, and in God's eyes it's wrong, however, it is not unforgivable. If you repent and become a Christian, you would pray and ask God to help stop sinning, repenting is turning away from your sins, this does not mean you will never sing again but that you will ask God to guide you and you won't try to become a Christian just so you can keep on sinning, that is called lukewarm and God knows when you are insincere.
1st Corinthian 6:9-11
"Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

Salaam Sister,

Islam forbids discrimination, we are all equals except to God.
Race, Nationality, Ethnicity, Religion ect. do not make us any less equal. Women may be the only exception to this as the Qur'an gives them an almost higher status than men. This is part of the reason that a lot of converts are women.

Then stay away from it....stay away fom here. Why are you here tormenting anyone about their belief if you do not care? For that matter, why are any athiests here? Do you really think you are making a good name for yourself? Do you have nothing better to do than pick apart a religion you are supposed to have nothing to do with? or is this part of your belief? to convince the world there is no God? that we are all evolved apes? It is complete nonsense! do the research......biblical references date back to our first documented pieces of history. There is evidence. God exists in all of us. He has shown himself in many people time and time again.

and who are they to say what is right or wrong? THEY are not, THEY are speaking from the bible.

first of all i do beleive in god second of all i believe in jesus christ the son of god
and i dont beleive in hateful slandering remarks on religion or sexual preferences or race or disability.
i coming from a place that doesnt have too much racial tesion alone in hawaii i see ur point.
when i was younger much younger i went to visit my grandparents every summer in oklahoma. thats where my dads side of my family is from
and i experienced racial slurs there for the first time
where the n word is as appropiate as brushing ur teeth or drinking water. it was not right.
i have three cousins that are black and everytime i heard that n word i would get so angry.i had a greatgrandmother who said once a n broke into her house and i just looked at her like what was that all about... but i realize that she was in her nineties and didnt know better.way back in her day those words were at one time exceptable.
my point is being gay is still a process people are learning to except. not everybody is going to be open minded.
christ taught to love others as we love ourselves. and so did many other prophets of god
we need to teach others to be open minded and to be loving and kind and compassionate of others.

and for this i thank you for your questions because it is us who needs to speak up for other.

An old pastor lay dying. He sent a message for an IRS agent and his lawyer to come to the hospital. When they arrived, they were ushered up to his room. As they entered the room, the pastor held out his hands and motioned for them to sit on each side of the bed.

The pastor grasped their hands, sighed contentedly, smiled, and stared at the ceiling. For a time, no one said anything. Both the IRS agent and lawyer were touched and flattered that the old man would ask them to be with him during his final moments. They were also puzzled because the pastor had never given any indication that he particularly liked either one of them.
Finally, the Lawyer asked, "Pastor, why did you ask the two of us to come here?"

The old pastor mustered all his strength, then said weakly, "Jesus died between two thieves, and that's how I want to go.

Don't Make Me Bible Belt You

A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss his use of the car.
"I'll make a deal with you," said his father. "You bring your grades up, study your Bible a little, get your hair cut, and then we'll talk."

A month later the boy came back and again asked his father if they could discuss his use of the car.

"Son, I'm real proud of you. You've brought your grades up and you've studied your Bible, but you didn't get hair cut!"

"You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that. Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair."

"Yes son, and they walked everywhere they went!"

From a Buddhist perspective (and atheist... I have to say that now because many people think we atheists don't believe in ANYTHING or have ANY ethical connections): All people are empty of inherent existence and people tend to stick labels on everyone and everything based on their perceptions (Christians aren't ALL guilty of this) ... so we LGBT people are already deep in hell... and lack morals, and allegedly if I bite you you'll be my slave for eternity.

Religous people do not see people as labels. They see people as people. Perhaps you are gay and you do not understand that in the scripture God gave us a standard of what is acceptable behaviour and what is not. Homosexuality is a Sin in God's eyes. This is what they are saying to you. The purpose of religion is to bring people to God. But God Has standards of right and wrong. That is what divides people. for encouragement, listen to ttb. org.

Its sad that there has to be lables for sexual preferences. Personaly I think a person is sexually active or not sexually active and their preference sexually has nothing to do with my perception of the type of person they are. Same goes for religion. I don't know half of freinds religions as it doesn't matter to me what they believe as it doesn't matter to them what I believe. Life's alot easier that way with fewer rows.

I'm a Christian and I don't have anything against gay people. I think the person that asked that question is a sick individual with repressed feelings.
