I use to have back acne on my lower mid back which I have under control now. But the problem is that it left scars and it does seem like over time their fading but not fast enough.

I used skin lightening stuff and that helped A LOT but the bigger scars are there.

Does anyone have an suggestions that are not EXPENSIVE!

I am making an appointment with a Derm. to see why I keep getting acne in my early 20s and hopefully he/she can help with something.

I'm so self conscious of this so any ideas would be helpful.

Also is this something a Derm. can help with or is it pointless to go?

Um...their mild. The ones on my upper back are pretty much gone.

The biggest ones that I have (only 2-3) are as big as a pencil eraser. The rest are smaller. More like a pencil dot. Maybe just a tad bigger then that.

See the problem is that I'm so fair in skin and these things are brown and pinky like so they stand out when I go into the light.

(Hey ann, Do you mind if i ask how bad the scars are ?depending on the severity there are many different treatments you can try that are quite inexpensive, and most can be done at home). >> (additional reply) O.k they dont sound to serious but if you want fast inexpensive results try doing chemical peels at home, you could go to your derm or a plastic surgeon but they are really expensive. I myself had acne scarring and i've found that peels really helped. You can try varied strengths of peel anywhere from a mild fruit acid peel gycolic acid peel to a higher strength peel like TCA (with Tca there is a recovery period though usually about a week) as the skin actually peels whereas gycolic acid and milder peels are just basically a deep exfoliation so there is no down time. but not as good as results. Chemical peels are ideal for lighter skin types as they can't really be used in ethnic skin types. Using cream and so on wont really make that much of a difference and it will take a much longer time to see slight results i think your best bet would be the peels. If you want information on how best to use chemical peels or where to buy just email me from this. Also the acne your experiencing alot of people experience ance well into adulthood if not treated. You must have a hormonal imbalance. Drugs like roaccutune will only take away the symtoms of ance not the cause there for not curing it, i would'nt recommend them. Depending on the cause of your hormonal imbalance there will be different ways of treating it. I got adult ance through birth control i was on at the time which created a hormonal imbalance. If you have been on any contraceptives recently i.e pill or the contraceptive jag (depo provera) they could be the cause.Hope this helps if you have any more questions feel free to email me i'm more than happy to try and anwser your questions. good luck

Niacinamide face cleansing pads are effective and simple way to keep acne away. Just place a pad on the pimple and watch it fade away. Lavender Oil helps prevent skin drying. Niacinamide pads are also known as Vitamin B3 pads or Nicotinamide pads. Give them a try and you will be pleasantly surprised. Niacinamide also helps diminish skin-hyperpigmentation (acne scars).

Lemon juice or Apple Cider Vinegar with a Seaweed paste applied overnight would help lighten acne scars. Painting clear iodine from your pharmacy might also help but a rare person may have an allergic reaction. I would try any of these on a part of your body other than your face first and if there was improvement I would try my facial scars.

Naweko San-Jozy (ArriveNet Editorials - Jun 01, 2005) -- Even though Harry Potter’s magic wand could not cure the acne breakout he and co-stars Rupert Grint, (Ron Weasley) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), are experiencing, their special effects man could. According to a leak posted by Thomas Crosbie Media, editors in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” had to “employ a special effects man to go through every frame clearing up their complexions."

If you can’t afford a camera magician to clear up your acne, rest assured that using the five steps below can magically transform your fantasies of clear skin into a reality.

Step One: Reduce excess oil secretion

Vitamin A helps reduce the secretion of oil by the oil glands. Foods that supply the body with Vitamin A and beta-carotene (which is converted to vitamin A by the body) include: Liver, oily fish, whole eggs, carrots, sweet potatoes, and broccoli.

Step Two: Encourage extreme shedding of the skin

Using a peel is the easiest method to promote shedding of the skin. Exfoliation releases the build-up of dead skin cells, oils and bacteria trapped in the pores, which could lead to the formation of blemishes.

Extreme peels
Peels come in varying degrees, from mild to harsh. The trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel is an extreme peel that can cost from $100 to $1000 depending on the degree of the treatment. It is only performed in a doctor’s office. The TCA is not a save all however. The peel can make the skin sensitive to the sun cause hyper-pigmentation.

Home use peels
Several over-the-counter peels contain papaya enzymes or glycolic acid. These peels lightly exfoliate the skin and are safe for weekly use.

Step Three: Reduce the spread of bacterial infection

Using an astringent such as witch hazel or apple cider vinegar to disinfect the skin significantly reduces the presence of bacteria on the face. This reduction limits skin inflammation and the likelihood of a pimple developing.

Step Four: Enhance Fat Metabolism

Free fatty acids can irritate the skin and provoke acne eruptions. Reducing intake of foods containing hydrolyzed fats will improve fat metabolism. However, do consume essential fatty acids such as Omega-3 and Omega-6, which are found in foods such as salmon and olive oil. These essential fats aid the gastrointestinal tract eliminate pro-inflammatory substances, which reduces the possibility of experiencing acne lesions.

Step Five: Reduce inflammation

A strong immune system serves as a buffer against inflammation. Stress reducing activities such as exercising, eating a well-balanced diet and sleeping well boosts the immune system. A diet supplemented with B-Complex, zinc and vitamins C and E likewise enhances the effectiveness of the immune system.

These steps work via creating a bodily environment that is not conducive to acne. By adhering to the nutritional and aesthetic steps above, anyone can attain clear skin while simultaneously augmenting their health. It’s a lot cheaper that hiring a special effects man.
