Theists, esp. Christians take a lot of name calling here. People questioning their (our) intelligence. What do the same people doing the name calling have to say about the founders of this great nation? Were they also lacking in intelligence?

They also lived 200 years ago and decades before Darwin published ‘Origin of Species’. For their time, they were remarkably forward thinking.
Forward thinking enough to purposefully create the first 100% secular national government in history.
Forward thinking enough that they formed a democratic republic so that popular opinion would not determine the fate of the country.
Forward thinking enough that they put the military under civilian authority.
They created a nation that conservative Christians hate, which is why they have, throughout the history of the nation, tried to rewrite and amend the Constitution so they can have the theocratic-based fascist country that they want America to be.

When we have God out of the government and public life, we will have the government and nation our Founding Fathers created.

I don't think theists are intellectually "dumb". I do think that theists who remain theists after a moment of crisis has happened are incredibly fearful and emotionally insecure. I think if it weren't for post tramatic stress syndrome, there wouldn't be any religious people at all. If a person is truly at peace with themselves, they don't need invisable friends to help them in life.
I think theists are emotionally unstable but not necessarily stupid. Many politicians, computer programmers and Mensa types are religious due to emotional problems in their past. A person truly healed of emotional trama has no need of superstition and has better things to think about.
Insecure, not stupid.

Too bad so many can't see what they tried to create. And it was NOT a christian nation.

Um, no. And I certainly wouldn't say any person was "dumb" based on something as basic as that. I don't think any reasonable person would.

Nope, and America was stable back then... we want God out of our schools, Columbine happens; we want God out of our homes, Hillary Clinton happens; and we want Him out of our government, what do you think will happen then?
