If it looks like a rotweiler, acts like a rotweiler, and sounds like a rotweiler... a white line down the chest don't mean squat. I don't know why you or anybody would want one. They slobber, sneeze buggers, and have big feet that drag mud into the house even when you wipe them. If I looked at a picture and told you it didn't look like a rotweiler to me.. Would you have the nerve to go ask a gangster to give your money back? Remain calm. The rotweiler down the road from me has a white bib line and also a couple white toes on one front foot. Nobody tells her she's not a rotweiler.. lol

White on a Rottweiler is a genetic defect or possibly a sign that the dog is mixed. If it is a patch, the dog should be spayed or neutered so as to not pass the gene.
If you have a few random white hairs, do not worry about it.
White patches on a Rottweiler are a serious fault according to the AKC Standard.

Ok one question I have for you is how old is the dog, b/c puppies sometime have lighter markers when they are younger and it grows out. If it is older, it still could be a rott, but not a show quality dog. I have seen rotts with white marks, but they usually get them from bad breeding or it could be a mixed breed, it can be hard to tell. Why not put a picture in photobucket, that way it is easy to post a link so we could see it. Let me know if u need any more explanations.

An unknown gangster in the street? Who buys a puppy from an unknown gangster??
Perhaps you could find this unknown gangster and ask him if the dog is really purebred.. Cause gangsters have a code of ethics when it comes to selling puppies in the back alley, he has to tell you the truth.

It probably is either a cross or a pure that doesn't have the best genes.
Some rottie's develop a condition that causes then to loose pigmentation such as nose around eyes and hair goes white.
As long as its a nice dog why worry?

Some dogs have white patches on their chests.
Most times it is considered a fault if they have them.
Many breeds have it happen. All it means is that yourdog is not breeind quality but could still be a purebred dog just not hte best example of one.

there are two types of rotty...one is a big heavy dog and there is a smaller one..the heavier dogs are always black and brown..where as the smaller ones do tend to have white markings on them...so it is a rotty just the smaller type :)
