Ok, I just got back from the stylist and she straightened my hair with a Chi flat iron and I LOVE it! I'm going to buy one, she recommended Chi and since I know I like the results that's what I'm going with. My only question is should I get a two inch or a one inch iron? I have really thick, medium length hair. Any insight would be wonderful!

In addition, to anyone that uses a flat iron regularly... How long does it take you to straighten your hair and how long do the results last?

If you are doing your own hair, an one inch is much easier to use. I mostly use an one inch, at it straightens just well. It just takes a less time with a 2 inch; however, it's next to impossible for me to get the wispies around my forehead with an iron that size. It takes a lot of coordination (at least for me...) to do your own hair in a mirror. It's a lot easier to burn yourself with a larger iron, especially if you haven't done it before.
I suggest the one inch, but they do both work well.

Hi, I'm so glad your stylist used a CHI Flat Iron, they are the best. I use a one inch CHI, and I need a new one, I will buy the exact one I have now. I recommend the one inch because of your hair density and length, I too have the exact same hair type and length!

Even with longer hair a 1 inch is easier to handle than a 2 inch and allows you to get closer to the roots to straighten

my hair is REALLY THICK too, and i just started straightening it and i use a 1 inch flat iron, but my friend over the summer used a two incher and i had the same result so as long as the curling iron is good quality i don't think inches matter.
glad you like your hair straight!

Heck if you can afford a Chi iron then you might as well go with a two inch. I find that longer hair goes faster with a wider one.
