Does it really matter?

I honestly do not feel the question or debate should be is there a God or not. But rather could you follow a God that behaves in the way the bible God so clearly does.

A God that kills & or tortures anyone that doesn't bow to his will.
A God that knows before hand who will be going to heaven and who will be going to hell.
A God that judge the world without first providing a set of laws by which a person could know if they are doing what is good or not.
A God that will kill innocent children because he is angry at the parent or wants to make some twisted point as in the case of Job.
The list goes on and on.

I feel if we are going to say there is a God then we must examine the moral and ethical nature of this God. Howelse could anyone honestly say if they could or would follow such a God? Does anyone just blindly follow any leader without looking at their track record or knowing what they stand for and believe in? If we wouldn't do this for a human leader who we can see why in the world would we do this for a God who we can't see.

It can't be simply think like this or suffer forever. If that is the only reason a person believes in God or follows God then they are only interested in protecting themself and do not care what this God does to others. So long as they personally do not suffer! And that type of mindset is SICK!

All or nothing, huh? How about many gods and goddesses? But, if I view a pantheon of gods as being merely aspects of a greater Divine force, does that make me monotheistic or polytheistic? I would be on the God side, as I do believe in ancient gods, a spiritual reality existing beneath our physical one, and I know 'Bob' is the only One True God.

No God. However, we make up entities to talk to in times of extreme stress...when things are stressful, our minds allow us to think along this line if necessary. It helps people cope with difficulty but the reality is, there isn't a god or outside source that helps us. Its just fun to believe it when things are tough.
