It could be possible that there is a small piece in there, but more than likely, a sharp piece of corn scraped the throat lining, and scratched it. To prevent further injury, try drinking some smooth liquids, like milk, chocolate milk, iced tea, and such.
This will add a smooth coating on the throat lining, and food and stuff will flow downward better. If this persists, for another two or three days, then go to your Dr. and ask him/her about it.
Myself, I drink milk, and that helps me. Good Luck

I advise drinking much more liquids than usual. You've got to get fluids washing your throat, whether it be a kernal stuck there or if your throat was just hurt by a kernal. It's got to have that smoothness, particularly warm drinks such as tea, coffee, heated milk, hot chocolate, etc.

This will sound weird, but it works. Benadryl have some qualities in it that help soothe the throat ( as long as you don't have asthma). Try to get some children's Benadryl and garggle with it 3 times a day and swallow. It will help reduce the irritaion and swelling.
Good luck!

Drink a little apple-cider vinegar and see if it wont flush out.
If that dont help, drink a spoon of olive oil or canola oil
it may slide down then.
