God bless you. The proper term is baptized. Christening is presenting your name to God, which as a baby is the same time as being baptized. There are RCIA classes you must take. Talk to a local priest. Baptisms for adults occur during Eastertime, unless emergencies. Learn more about the faith of the Saints. God bless you. The fact that you have the desire to be baptized makes you "baptized" already. A sacramental baptism by water will only make it official. If a Lutheran, Episcopalian, Orthodox minister baptized you in the name of the Father, SOn , and Holy Spirit, that is VALID in the catholic church. Sacrament of Confirmation is your next step. The words "I baptize you in the name of the Father, SOn , Holy Spirit" when used by a non-catholic minister is VALID in the eyes of God.

You don't need to be baptised or christened again if you have been already. Speak to a priest and they will help you. There is an RCIA course which explains all you will want to know. Then you will receive communion and be confirmed into the Catholic Church at the same time. Good luck.

i'm an adult in the eyes of the church (i'm 16), so i am starting RCIA classes this thursday to become baptized. it's too late to be baptized this easter, but i will be next easter. all you have to do is call the church rectory or the leader of religious education and tell them that you're an adult (already baptized or never have been baptized) who wants to join the church. they will set up an interview where they ask you about your religious background if you have any, you will fill out a form and they will give you some booklets and a Bible and you go to the next meeting. it's pretty easy, and the people at the church are usually very happy to have a new member.

As an adult, there is now more to it than just "getting Baptized" (we don't usually use the word "Christened" for adults). You need to contact your local parish and talk to the Priest. Then you need to enroll in what they call "RCIA" - Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults.

My mother converted to a Catholic in her late 60's. I don't know about a christening but I know she had to go to classes and then they looked at her life story to forgive her of an early divorce (they annulled it) and all her other sins. Almost like an initiation process.

+ Joining the Catholic Church +
If you are interested in joining or just learning more about the Catholic Church, contact your local parish and ask about information about their RCIA Inquiry group.
You can go and ask any questions you want.
This is the first step in RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) but you can stop at any time.
There is no obligation to become a Catholic.
+ Baptism +
Jesus said, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation. He who believes and is baptized will be saved." (Mark 16:15-16)
The Catholic Church believes that you can only be saved once and therefore should only be baptized once.
The Nicene Creed states, "We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins."
The Catholic Church recognizes the Christian baptism of anyone who was baptized with water and the words, "[Name], I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit."
For more information, see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/pt2sect2.htm#art1
+ With love and prayers in Christ.

It's called 'baptised' in catholic terms.
You should approach a catholic church and talk to a priest about it.
