Good riddance.
This person obviously doesn't have any sense, so don't involve yourself with them further.
The broken blood vessel will heal up with out any help, so I'd just leave it alone.
And tell everyone I know to avoid them.

Have you taken the dog to the vet yet? What is the prognosis of the burst blood vessel? If there is irrepairable damage, the vet needs to make note of that.
In order to sue you will have to prove that the trainer's actions were the cause of the damage. Can you do this? Any witnesses? Saw the two dogs together? Saw your dog immediately before with two good eyes? Saw the dog immediately after with burst blood vessel in the eye?
You didn't mention what problem your dog was having that you needed a trainer?
If it was my dog, with the little information you have given, I'd have to forgive the trainer and blame myself for letting my dog around a dog it was afraid of. Let sleeping dogs lie.

I would take to vet and ask vet to write a report incase this is going to cause issuesfor your dog in the future. MAke sure it is reported that it could be caused by stress. Take photos.
Call the company and make a complaint and send them a copy of the report and make the complaint in writing also. If you paid for the session request money back - I would NEVER take my dog along to someones training session (I do some dog training at peoples houses), there no need to unless you are later trying to get the dog to socialise more. This person sounds unprofessional and like they have no idea what they are doing.

I would complain that is just blatantly unprofessional what was the point of bringing their dog to a training session for your dog who do they think they are The Dog Whisper? I would try to get compensation for your dog's injury but they will deny it and say that it happened after they were there. Hope your pup gets better and try someone else and ask for references if they have a good reputation they won't have any problem supplying you with that information, and remember word of mouth about the bad trainer will ensure that they don't do this to other people that you know.

I would definitely send a complaint letter, that was a ridiculous thing for a trainer to do, especially without knowing anything about your dog, also if they own a business call the better business burea in your area and file a complaint. That trainer should pay your vet bill.

As a trainer I would never take one of my own dogs to work with a dog I was training for another person.
My dogs have no exposure ever to dogs in training.
I would never take another dog with me it is very unprofessional.
I would not use this person again. If the vet bill is large I would call and ask the trainer about what they would like to do about it.

I would certainly complain, but I doubt that it will do much good with this "so-called" trainer.
