Im not sure why you are asking about orange juice when you are talking about jello shots. Unless you plan on using just a tiny splash, leave it out. You need to use water, jello and booze if you want the gelatin in the jello to actually set appropriately. You'll be stuck with liquid jello shooters if you aren't careful. Yes, you can mix pretty much any fruity jello flavor with rum. My favorites with clear rum ar pineapple, orange, raspberry and strawberry...just like a fruit daiquiri. Anyway, if you want to get real crazy and have some other booze talk to me :) Mixing in a little triple sec instead of all rum will totally help it from being too strong. Type in jello shots into any search engine and you are going to get tons of recipes. Have fun!

Use vodka or clear rum. Do not use a spiced rum of any kind.
Be sure that when you are making the jello shots that your cups are shallow enough that people can use their tongues to get the jello out. Also, be sure to use an equal amount of alcohol and water. Using all alcohol will not solidify but using too little alcohol is just silly! :P
Good luck!

Yes you can mix orange juice with rum. I think you can mixanything with OJ. As far as jello shots, you can make it with vodka or with light rum. I tried both of them and both are good. to get rid of all rum follow these instructions:
1 Make jello to box intructions except when they ask to add cold water, add cold rum. Leave it to set (will be longer since alcohol takes longer to freeze.
2 try layering shots. Like prepare as above but fill shot cups half-way. let the 1st kayer set and add a second layer. Great to make Cherry Limeade shots, Strawberry lemonade shots, etc..

You can't go wrong with the recipes there.
Oh, and if you have a ton of rum and don't know what to do with it, how about making some rum balls?
