Vista looks good, pretty and all but right now I will advise you to wait. This is why.

1) The computer hardware requirements are really high (processor, RAM, etc). If you buy the CD and your computer is does not meet these requirements, Vista will be no fun.

2) Running Vista on a computer with less that 1GB of RAM is not wise. For Vista to just sit there and do nothing, it takes up 500MB. It works best with Dual Core processor.

3) So, If you wanna get Vista, it would be much better to buy a new computer, BUT I think you should wait for Microsoft to sort out a lot of the security and compatibility problems.

I hope I wasn't too confusing. XP has been developed so much so I think it will be good to keep that for a while.

Type "vista problems" in The Search for questions box above.

While you're waiting for MS to fix the Vista problems. Get UBUNTU (or XUBUNTU if your computer has less than 256MB of RAM). It's easy to install and use. You can dual boot it with other operating systems. It's a free, reliable and up to date operating system. Once you have it installed, you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community.

Always back up your data before making changes to your computer.

Do not do it, not yet at least. Wait until they come out with the service pack for vista. Until then, it is very vulnerable to hackers and stuff.
