Many Christians say God called them.Aren't they determining that it was God who called them? Couldn't it be Satan just as well?

If I have a desire to do something and I want it to be condoned I could convince myself that it was from God and anyone that opposes is from Satan.( ie. send me money to build a temple or be a missionary etc.)

So if Bush thinks his calling is to save the Iraqi people from Sadam and bombs the country and kills innocents its from God ? or say Hitler decides his calling is to kill Jews? Or Euros decide to conquer lands and colonize them (America, Africa etc.) its from God?

Auditory hallucinations are a primary symptom of Paranoid Schizophrenia. If someone thinks God is talking to them, I would direct them to the nearest psychiatric facility.

We at times can hear many voices. But we are to test the spirits.
If an angel (or a spirit that is seen and we can communicate with), He must be able to confess Jesus as Lord. If we just hear a voice, the way to determine is does the message line up with the Word of God. And if a person has wisdom, again does it line up with the Word. And if there was a sin you know you repented of, and know you are forgiven, God won't bring it up, as He has forgotten about it.

If God is calling you, you will know, usually God calls you because you have been praying about it. Second, would this be something God would say? If you think there is something weird about what you heard, it may not be from God. Pray about it

it sure could be.
it could also be mental disease.
christians have no way of knowing or proving.
heck -- the bible itself could be a ploy from satan himself. they'd never know it. just look at all the hatred and divisiveness the bible has caused and still causes!! more likely it's created from someone evil than from a god.
