To save costs of ceremony decorations, use tulle swags accented with coordinated bows or flowers for the aisles. And accent only the enterence and altar with two simple flower arrangements atop a pedestal or column.

For your attendants have them carry a single (or 2-3) stemed flower(s) tied with a ribbon. And go with a larger hand tied bouquet for yourself.

And for your reception, use tulle swags to accent your head table, gift table, and cake table and accent with coordinating bows or flowers.

For the centerpieces use bubble bowls with fresh rose buds or hurricane vases w/candles on a mirror tile, surrounded by rose petals and, votive candles.

If you need any more help, just let me know. I'd be happy to give you some additional advice.

I actually live in Florissant! How random is that?

Have you checked out Krause's catering?

Here are some ideas to save you guys money...
Instead of a florist, can you make your own bouquets? When my dad and stepmom got married, we went to Sam's and got tons of flowers for a great price, and to Michaels for ribbon, and just made the bouquets ourselves.
For a photographer, maybe you could just have them come to the wedding, and then put a disposable camera on every table and ask your family to help take the pictures of the reception.

Caterers are not cheap with wait staff and all that. I had a wedding and there was a mexican restaurant 1 block away. They came and set up the food then came back 2.5 hours later and picked it up. It was $15 per person. Tons of food. I looked around and around for caterers. I didnt do any flowers except for bouquets for me and the bridesmaids and boutainers for family. My sister did the pictures. The people in the church did the set up. My whole wedding was about $2500. We kept the rehearsal dinner to the bare necessities.

Why not...have an outdoor recption at a friends or a park or something?..you could have friends and families come together and bring food to bbq..dantis could be brought..i have been to a few wedding like that..people have loved them!..The bride and grooom are more at ease as it is not so formal..and if you are doing this yourself..you are so young..the last thing you want to do is start off in dept from a wedding!..People want you to be happy..having a fancy wedding is not needed right now. If you want..after a few years when funds are more availabe after you've workded for awhile..you could have an anniversy dinner and invite people.
NAd ya..flowers are so over priced it is crazy!..I had flowers from safeway!.

When it comes to plannig a wedding on the tightest budget it seems that it's easier when your in a crunch. You can get flowers for pretty cheep by making the arrangements yourself, finding a caterer that works within your tight budget as well is always harder but not impossible, find ones that will charge for the value not by the plate. Normally a buffet style or even doing it yourself is always a way to go.
Getting someone to take photos for you is another way to shave money off the budget. Having disposable cameras on the tables at the reception is one way to cut costs, or find a family member that is willing to do it for ya, if that isn't right check with local photographers and see what their cheepest package is and see if you can get that.

There are tons of ways to save money when you are doing a wedding on a budget. Go to a Sams or a Costco to get the flowers and make the bouqets yourself. The flowers are usually nice and inexpensive. I did the bouqets (with the help of a friend) for myself and my bridesmaids with roses hand tied with a pretty satin ribbon. We purchased the flowers at Costco - They sell them in 2 dozen batches for $15. I found instructions on the internet for how to make boutineers for the guys and made those myself. Instead of getting a fancy wedding cake that costs hundreds of dollars and only allows the guests a little sliver, we purchased some nicely decorated sheet cakes from Costco for $17 each - one white with cream cheese filling and icing, one chocolate with chocolate rasberry mousse filling and chocolate icing. Each served 45 people a decent sized slice and both were delicious! For catering, you may consider a restaurant you like as opposed to an actual caterer. Since catering is not the lifeblood of the restaurants business, it is usually a lot more reasonable. Go with a buffet style meal - usually alot less expensive than traditional sit down plus it allows people to pick and choose what they want. I think we spent about $650 to feed around 90 people and still had some food left over. Do not have an open bar that serves hard liquor - that gets very expensive! Instead just serve wine, beer, water and sodas. Its a lot cheaper and your not as likely to end up with people getting wasted at your reception - lol. Or, considering that you are 20 and not legally supposed to drink, you may just want to keep it to non alcoholic drinks (sodas, water, tea, etc...) - that will cut your costs even further. For a photographer, you may try what we did. We put an ad on craigslist looking for student or advanced amature photographers who wanted to get into wedding photography and were looking to build their portfolio. We got a lot of responses, most of which sent us samples of their work. The one we finally decided on offered to do engagement shots for us so we could try her out. They will usually charge you very little as they mainly want the experience and since they are looking to have pieces to show future potential clients, they will usually do a very good job and go above and beyond to make sure your photos look wonderful. Just make sure you get samples before hand, ask them to shoot test shots so you see how they work and how well you work together. I found my dress and a discount bridal store. A dress that may have cost me $600 elsewhere only cost me about $200. If you shop around, you can find them for even less. I hope this is helpful. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding!

Save money and skip the florist. Seriously, do you want to remember the wedding or the honeymoon more?

If neither family is helping, I would scale down the party.
Dessert only, no alcohol, have a friend take pics, etc.

If your plans aren't set in stone, you might consider this spot for an unusual wedding, and a good price too! Good luck in whatever you decide.
