I maintain that many different religions use the name Christian. Mormons are different because they think good Mormons can eventually become a God, whereas most Christians believe that is totally wrong; God said (in Isaiah) there was no god formed before him, neither shall there ever be any after him.
I could write a book about the differences between various Christian religions. Some believe in a 3-person Godhead, some don't. Some substitue sprinkling for baptism; others believe immersion is essential. Some believe in miracles, others say miracles don't happen, regardless of the fact that they do happen.

There are many different denominations of Christianity, but they are all Christians. Mormonism, however, is not a denomination of Christianity- they do not follow the Bible's teachings at all, they believe you can work your way into heaven. The true Christian denominations all believe Christ died for us and that in order become a Christian you must truly accept him as Lord and Savior.
If someone says "I am non-denominational" that means they just think of themselves as a Christian, not a presbyterian or baptist or something else.

For 1,500 years after Christ founded His Church there was only one form of Christianity. This is what Christ intended. He specifically said that His followers are to be ONE, even as He and His heavenly Father are ONE. This all changed in the 16th Century when one proud man thought He knew better than God, and started a manmade version of Christianity based on unchristian, unbiblical principles. Such a tradition was doomed to fail from the start, and today we see the fruit of his rebellion everywhere - thousands of conflicting, contradicting unauthorized manmade churches, unable to agree on any point of doctrinal belief, yet each claiming to believe the truth. Common sense tells us that truth cannot contradict truth, and that therefore many of their teachings are false. All of this fragmentation and chaos has developed in a mere few hundred years. Some groups, like Mormons, have drifted so far from the beliefs of true Christianity that they cannot reasonably considered Christian. In contrast, the one Church Jesus Christ founded for all mankind continues in unity of belief and unity of worship, teaching the fullness of Christian truth, after 2,000 years, just as He said it should. If you want to worship as Jesus Christ told you to worship, and believe all that the Apostles believed, the Holy Catholic Church invites you. Every year more than a million adults recognize the insufficiency of manmade denominatioan religion, and come home to the Church Christ founded for them. Look and see. You will find what you are looking for.
