Ok, this dog definitely needs a walk, all dogs have energy and you shouldnt have a dog if you dont have time for a walk everyday, depending on the size of the dog it needs a long one. if it is a lab or something like that then it needs at least 45 minutes a day, off the leash prefereablly but its ok if not, if it is smaller like a yorkie then 20 minutes will do. But definitely, it just needs to expend its energy.
GOOD LUCK!

Teach him the "wait" command. Begin with your dog on a leash. You can either start practicing in the front doorway or any other doorway in the house. You go on the opposite side of the doorway with your leashed dog on the other side. Each time your dog tries to step through, block him with your body and give the command "wait." Be careful to leave the leash loose, it is just there as a precaution. When your dog has mastered the command you can practice off leash. Remember - "wait" does not mean stay - it is ok for your dog to walk around and go where ever he wants in the house as long as he does not cross the doorway where you gave him the command. Make sure to practice in different places and doorways such as the gate to the yard, the kitchen doorway, etc. A very useful command!

Right you can either put a baby gate up and keep him locked in..or teach him the sit stay command...use dog treats..sit him a bit away from the door..with a leash on to start...then tell him to sit and stay...then get someone to knock the door..go to answer it and every time he gets up go back to him and tell him to sit stay every time give him a treat and say good boy...eventually he will stay when the door is wide open..but always keep an eye on him before you really trust him....

I would take him to some sort of obedience class. My dog used to be the same way until we took her to obedience class, now before we open the door we tell her to sit and stay and she does. So i would try an obedience class, it helps a lot

This is a very dangerous situation. Your dog needs training. I used remote collar training for my dog. I actually sent her away to training camp for a week! The results have been wonderful. Your dog needs to learn that you are the boss... formal obedience training can help you with this. good luck.

Now you need some obedience classes, gain some sort of control over your dog. If he doesn't stop or come when you call him, next step is teaching him to listen to you, and the commands you need him to learn.

Sounds like he is still pretty young. Young dogs are usually very energetic, what I call "on springs". It might not be right, but I would, when I open the door, and he starts running for it, yell "no!" or "Hey, no!" or something like that, whatever gets his attention and lets him know you mean it. And make sure he knows what you mean. My dog knows what the yelling means, he is very responsive and eager to please. It should improve as he gets a little older.

Take him to obedience class. He will learn sit and stay among other things. Just tell him "stay" when you are about to open the door.

get a cage to put him in and then think about getting a fence i dont know why you have a dog without a fence but you should get one because you have to still remember its in a dogs nature to want to be outside so get a fence or take him out to nthe park to play for a while or get a really long chain to hook him to and let him play outside till he/she gets used to it.....goodluck
