Because Judaism, Christianity and Islam are the same religion, dressed in different clothes.

Not only that, Mary is mentioned in the Quran as well as in the Hadith, the traditional sayings, attributed to Muhammad (pbuh)himself. Here he says of her: "The best of the world’s women is Mary. Among women, none attained perfection except Mary the daughter of Imran (Joachim in Hebrew), and Asiya, the wife of Pharaoh"
the holy quran mentions mary in several places like 'isa-son of mary' 2 prove that jesus(pbuh) is mary's son not His.
She's also mentioned many times coz of her perfect faith in Allah n tht she is a role model 4 women of all times.

You know what, you'll surprised if you know that Islam appreciates Virgin Mary (peace be upon her) more than any other religion, just be fair minded and you'll realise that. Read those statements from The last Prophet; Mohammad (Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him):
1 – It was narrated that Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The men who attain perfection are many, but there are no woman who have attained perfection apart from Aasiyah the wife of Pharaoh and Maryam bint ‘Imraan, and the superiority of ‘Aa’ishah over all other women is like the superiority of thareed over all other foods.”
(Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 3230; Muslim, 2431)
2 – It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbaas said: the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) drew four lines on the ground, then he said, “Do you know what this is?” We said, “Allaah and His Messenger know best.” The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The best of the women of Paradise are Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid, Faatimah bint Muhammad, Aasiyah bint Mazaahim the wife of Pharaoh, and Maryam bint ‘Imraan – may Allaah be pleased with them.”
(Narrated by Ahmad, 2663. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, 1135)
3 – It was narrated from Anas that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Sufficient for you among the women of the world are Maryam the daughter of ‘Imraan. Khadeejah bint Khuwaylid, Faatimah bint Muhammad and Aasiyah the wife of Pharaoh.”
(Narrated and classed as saheeh by al-Tirmidhi, 3878)

This is because number one, the focus in your bible is on Jesus Christ.
And number two, the Virgin Mary is a figure that the Catholics evolved to try to satisfy the pagans who demanded a female alternative to their Goddesses.... didn't work by the way........

If I remember correctly (we had an Islam speaker @ Church) they believe Mary is the Holy Spirit???
