In order to maintain air speed velocity, a swallow must flap it's wings 7-14 times a second while cruising at a speed of about 24 miles per hour. This is, of course, assuming it is the common barnswallow and not one of the two specific African varieties. The African swallows are non-migratory and don't fly above Zaire, so any kinematic research on them would be nothing more than conjecture and hearsay and thus the reality of their velocity unanswerable.

The resulting Bible verse would be Matthew 24:7-14.
"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these [are] the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake. And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come."

I like to call it "the verse wherein Matthew admits the Bible is an ignorant, hateful, society-rendering text perfect for people who preach a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing." The velocity is the same as that of the barn swallow: 24 mph: (7-14) beats per second. Throwing this verse from church to church has much the same effect of maintaining a cruising speed stable enough to keep it moving generation to generation to generation.

um...I could throw the Bible and give it the air speed velocity of a swallow, but that may not be cryptic and confusing enough to be acceptable as scripture...
