Failure sucks, that goes without saying. But it's what you do with it and how you use it that's the important part. I say use failure as a motivator to do better.

So you lost in Semi-Finals. Acknowledge your accomplishments and pat yourself on the back for the work and effort you put into it and comit to working harder later instead of getting down on yourself.

So you "wrecked" the cake. Least you made a damn cake and your intentions were sweet, and that should make you feel good. Besides, it's a cake, you are gonna just eat it anyway.

You take Geography in FRENCH for God sake. That should be something to be proud of all in itself. I hate French, I couldn't imagine taking French Geography. And you knew some of the things on the test, take pride in what you knew and try not to beat yourself up for what you didn't. You can always learn it later.

Instead of concentrating on the negative and things that did not go as planned concentrate on your achievements and compliment yourself for your effort.

Try to see that each of those things can help you make a better person since you learn from each mistake. (Just make sure that you learn)
And realize that those things are not the end of the world. I also ruined a cake... and went to tell my friend the story so he knew I did try :p Now I'm planning on making a make-up cake :P

you can only do your best. as long as you try hard you should feel go about that. Alot of people don't even make the effort.

Don't be too hard on yourself, you could develope an eating disorder or something. Look at the possitive things. No body is perfect. And maybe you are setting your goals too high, try starting smaller.

Take comfort in the fact that you tried. Many never try. Those are the ones who brag that they could have been this or that. Just remember life is like a roller coaster ride. Right now you are on the downswing. Eventually you'll be riding the upswing.

you're just having a bad week. if my friend would have brought me a tore up birthday cake that she or anybody else for that matter had baked me...i would have just cried with joy. that is soooo touching. you will be fine. you really sound like a good friend anyways.

That sounds like a few bad days man...not failure.
Failure is a strong word, just take a deep breath.

These are hardly major failures in life, stop being so hard on yourself, all anyone can do is give things their best shot

I know I can't do everything perfectly so I try my best and accept that sometimes I'll do fine and sometimes I'll mess up. the main thing is that you tried. better than sitting on the couch not doing anything.

Smile! Look at your mistakes and say, "Hah! That was stupid! At least I won't do that again!" Then pick yourself up and do better next time.
