I don't make mine, I straighten out the blankets at night before getting in.

I think if you are going to be entertaining or just have people in your house that are going to see your bed, sure, make it look nice. People who don't ever make their bed might see your unmade bed and think "Eww- slob". Hypocritical, but that's how people are. Other than that, it's a personal decision. If you can sleep comfortably w/ out a daily sheet tuck, so be it. Me, it depends on my mood & agenda. I like the look & feel of a nice made bed, but I don't freak out if a day or few goes by & I've neglected it.

The thing I really can't understand is when people dress up their beds. I have come across people who not only make their beds, smoothing down the covers, but then proceed to garnish or "dress" them with fancy cushions. Why go to all that trouble only to have to undo it all again when you retire for the night? Is it an aspect of displacement activity?

Myself, I personally feel like I haven't cleaned my house if I don't make the bed. But than again, I don't work so I have the time. When I did work I wouldn't make it before I left, but did when I got home, not unless I was going out shopping or doing something else. But than again it is your house do what is right for you and forget anyone elses opinion.

i like to make my bed but i normally don't have time in the morning. i end up making the bed after i get home from work. the house feels much neater and calmer when the bed is made for some reason.

Right, think about it... you're like hardly in there much During the day, and if you make it you're just gonna tear it up again at night to sleep in it, so why bother? I think it's kind of silly and anally retentive to insist on making beds! Waste of time.

I never saw the point to making a bed unless you have a hot date or something. You're just going to mess it up by sitting or sleeping on it.

I have EVERYTHING clean and tidy in my home EXCEPT for my bed.I can not live in a untidy home.it messes with my mind if i allow it to get unclean and untidy.I do not know why i do not make my bed up.prehaps because it is something that constantly gets messed up.so why waste the time?I make it after i clean the sheets

Making up one's bed is a personal choice -- unless your mother lives with you. Even if you're an adult.
I make my bed every morning -- because my mother used to yell at me all the time about it and it finally burned its way into my psyche. And she doesn't live with me.
