I'm a young catholic medical student from Hungary. I'd like to take part in a catholic mission trip as a doctor, particularly to a region of West-Africa (Nigeria, Cameroon). Does anyone know of any international catholic mission groups? Please only serious answers. Thanks.

I agree with the first answerer, your diocese is the best place to ask questions.
Have you tried either Mercy Ships or Doctors without Borders as well? They are two good organizations, but are not directly affiliated with the Catholic church.

examine with the missions workplace of your Diocese. If their venture isn't in Africa, they are in a position to point you to one that is. The Diocese of Toledo in united statesa. has a venture in Zimbabwe with the Binga human beings.

Check with the missions office of your Diocese. If their mission is not in Africa, they can point you to one that is. The Diocese of Toledo in America has a mission in Zimbabwe with the Binga people.

Your diocesan office will have information on ways to volunteer overseas.

Here is some information from the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Missions website: http://www.missionsla.org/missionhome/missionhome.html
