Federal Bureau of Prisons

Atheist make up 6-12% of the population and only make up 2.9% of those incarcerated. Why are Atheists less likely to end up in prison? Is it because they are more likely to have parents in academia? Are their parents more likely to be Biology teachers, science professors, PHDs, and have other higher level graduate degrees or other. Why is it more likely for some Christian sects to go to prison than others. FBP says that there were 156 Atheists out of 7000.

Actually, if you asked the question the other way around, you'd get better results. The question should be "why dont athiests commit as many crimes as christians"

The answer is inteligence and rearing. A smarter person is less likely to commit a crime, pure and simple.

ok, well, you can not be implying that the rest of the population is Christian. I mean what about religious/Secular, Sudaism, Islam, BuddhismAgnostic, Hinnduism, Unitarian Universalist , Wiccan/Pagan/Druid, Spiritualist, Native American Religion, Baha'i, New Age, Sikhism, Scientology
Humanist DeityTaoist. and these are only the top 20 religions/beliefs in america. I mean, where are you going with this? Do you have the research on these? Or do you just research things that suit your case? And fyi, most of the people in prison who even :"claim" to be christian are non practicing. they may have been raised in a catholic or Christian, or whatever home, but they are obviously non practicing. I highly doubt Jeffery Dommer was praying in church every Sunday. why do you think the bible and God is highly talked about in prison? Because these people are at an all time low, so who do they turn to? God. they find God, they beg for forgiveness and are born again!

Geesh!

for the duration of incarceration, it truly is common to develop into and preserve a christian outlook. After launch from incarceration, many human beings develop into recidivist, and do not truly relate to the christian ethic. For them, it truly is a count number number of convenience, and something to do. We used to flow to church even as i became locked up contained in the VA because lets get loose coupons which could be used for sweet bars, cigs, etc. So we went to easily about each service that you'll imagine, jewish, catholic, protestant, you call it. Homeless human beings likely spend more suitable time in Church than absolutely everyone. I see them dozing out in fron of a few church homes downtown. humorous, yet when Jesus became the following, he'd likely supply them a whipping and toss them from the grounds.

They think they'll be forgiven for anything until their cellmate, Leroy, shows them that you always get punished in the end.

They believe, which pisses a lot of people off. Of course if you don't believe, that is also a bad thing.
