If you want to get that technical, you had better start by deciding which use of the word "love" you have in mind. Some are objective, some are subjective, some are ambiguous, some have narrow meaning.

I believe that all emotions, including love, come from a persons mind. I don't believe in souls. Minds are a very powerful thing, and some emotions in the mind over power others, such as sadness for depressed people over powers their happiness. I think that the world lives on emotions. Without emtions we would be nothing, because we wouldn't care what would happen to ourselfs or others, so dying or living wouldn't really matter to us.
To me, love is just like all other emotions. believe that all people are able to love and there is different kinds of love, for example the love you give to a child of yours, the love you give to a friend, and the love you give to your spouse. I think one of the main things that love is, is attachment. Anyways, to answer you question, I do believe that love is subjective.

Didn't even need to see all the possible variations. "Love" is indeed subjective.

The word is used much too freely these days, much as the word "friend" is. Can someone really LOVE a certain artist or brand of soda? Can a teenager really LOVE their boy/girlfriend?

Similarly, I have loads of acquaintances, but only a handful of "friends". Just knowing someone does not mean they qualify as a "friend".

Thanks!

yes.

as used today the word love does not have the sacred meaning it may have once had. I love my husband, and ice cream...in this aspect the word is extremely subjective.

Sure seems to have different meanings for a lot of people here (how many of us follow the 'love thy neighbor' tenet?)
