It's a cat thing, and try as I might I could never get my cat to explain to me WHY. WHY when I give you nice fresh water in a clean bowl every day, Why must you drink from the toilet? WHY!?!?!?!

None of my cats drink from the toilet but it does not surprise me that one would. I do have to be careful the seat stays down cause one likes water and tends to fall in.Since he can't swim in the toilet, he has an affinity for the bathtub and likes to drink from the faucet if it ever drips.

My oldest cat Roo likes to drink from the toilet all the time. I thought at first it was because his food dish water was to warm to I started giving him refrigerated water but he still drinks out of the toilet. Cats are such strange little creatures LOL.

As toilet water is treated water, I would keep the lid down if I were you. That's what I've been doing for the past, almost 4 yrs I've had my cat.

My mom's cat does, and he also plays with her german shephereds. He thinks he is a dog, he plays fetch and sleeps in their kennel with them and will even eat their food. He weighs almost thirty pounds and looks like garfield.

My wife used to have a cat that did that.
But he stopped very suddenly, when I booted him up the backside every time he went back.
It's not very hyegenic.
