I had a dog once, and for kicks I named him, "Maneater" And no, it wasn't because of the song, it was further back than that. I just wanted to see how people would react when I called him.
But that name can be either intimidating, or sexy, depends on how people take it. I used to take him in cabs with me, and when I would call his name to move over and make room for another passenger, the other passengers would get right back out of the cab. My dog, though, was a Basset Hound.
I have a friend that named her dog "Tank," because he is as big as one.

Well, Killer is always a good name for a man-eating dog. :) Or you could name him after a famous serial killer or something like that. Or maybe John Henry like from that old song about the rail-road guy. When I read your question, I immediately though of "Rothrock" as a good name. I guess thats really not very scarey, but it sounds tough.

Mine's name is Rocky - he's also a sweetheart, but you cant even think bad things about me or my husband, he is very possessive & defends us when he thinks somthing is wrong.
But anyway back to your question. Someone else answered Zeus and I think that is a nice name too. But when we first got Rocky, my Mom suggested Wolgang (German & quite fitting). For short - Wolfy. Kind of cute, but he had already started answering to Rocky!!

I love ancient Greek God names.....

Zeus

"Zeus, the youngest son of Cronus and Rhea, he was the supreme ruler of Mount Olympus and of the Pantheon of gods who resided there. Being the supreme ruler he upheld law, justice and morals, and this made him the spiritual leader of both gods and men. Zeus was a celestial god, and originally worshiped as a weather god by the Greek tribes. These people came southward from the Balkans circa 2100 BCE. He has always been associated as being a weather god, as his main attribute is the thunderbolt, he controlled thunder, lightning and rain. Theocritus wrote circa 265 BCE: "sometimes Zeus is clear, sometimes he rains". He is also known to have caused thunderstorms. In Homer's epic poem the Iliad he sent thunderstorms against his enemies."

Kaiser. This name means German Emperor, good name for a strong German dog. Plus it's not too obvious and boring like Satan or Luccifer.
