It's possible that you are a mouthbreather. If so, this will dry out the oral membranes overnight. There are OTC products that replace saliva that you can use. Most of them taste atrocious but Salivart spray is the least offensive. Also include an adequate amount of water in your diet, no less than 1 1/2 to 2 liters a day.

I wake up with a dry throat all the time. especially this time of year , when its not cold enough to have to run the heater and I turn on a fan or leave the window open and sleep with the night air blowing in from the bay.

Maybe you are sleeping with your mouth open due to a stuffy nose. If your home is dry this time of year, you may want to buy a humidifier.

Either your really dehydrated or the air around you is really dry. Try drinking more water or getting a humidifyer.

Maybe you didn't drink enough the night before to get you through the night, but if you think you do, then maybe you need a Cool Mist Vaporizer to put moisture in the air while you're sleeping.
