Don't use RedHat, it crashes a lot. If you want a better system, try unbuntu, kunbuntu, xunbuntu, eduunbuntu, fidora, or damn small linux. Damn Small and unbuntu are great for older computers and will work faster. Damn Small can also be put onto a jump drive and can be carried around and used on ANY computer. To get to a website, type in unbuntu.com (for the OS's that contain "unbuntu")then click the link for the version of unbuntu that you want. for Damn Small Linux, type in "Damn Small Linux" into yahoo and click an address. Go pick a "mirror" (a site that helped make that linux) and go to the file that says "current" pick the first *.iso and down load it. Then for all of these, just put them on a disk, and install it on your computer.
Good Luck,
Austin

This can be one of several issues. You will need to reinstall again BUT check to see that all the hardware is OK before you do. I use knopix and boot the cd then run memtest etc to verify. If all looks ok reinstall but repartition and reformat this time.

Get another flavor of Linux, with these problems solved. Kubuntu at www.kubuntu.org will do it nicely.

Get UBUNTU (or XUBUNTU if your computer has less than 256MB of RAM). It's easy to install and use
