Always follow proper etiquette, get the hosts permission, turn away from the tablecloth, if if a man is wearing tails, make sure they are parted. Then, in the words of Ben Franklin, fart proudly!

Absolutely not!! The fart lighting rules are extremely definitive in this respect you may only light the fart when you are the host anything else is definitely a faux pas---k-

It does not matter whether you are the host or not, when you have the urge to pass gas, kindly remove yourself from the presence of others. Better yet, make way for the restroom.

no flatultent (fart) is not accepted in public however light it might be.even though it might be silent the scent may be a bomb, and if the a c is on it will be circulated inthe whole restuarant. this is really inappropriate
