Sorry that it was your grandma's name, but times were different then. Hell, swear to God, my father's name is BOOZE... no, he wasn't a drunk. These names are very southern... if you decide to name your child this, my advice is to make sure she knows martial arts 'cause she will be getting a whole lot of name calling in school.

If it's in an english speaking country I wouldn't recommend it, or at least give your child a "normal" middle name. You have to think about how a person will deal with a "strange" name. They may be picked on in school, and in later life have trouble getting jobs because of it.

My main concern, is that the way its written looks like it should be pronounced "mew-tint-ah" which is similar to mutant, which will probably be their nickname.

Honestly, I don't like it. I feel you are setting your child up for a lot of teasing. Can you use your grandmas middle name? Or I've seen people use a surname or maiden name as a first name. Best of luck

It looks like the word "mutant". Possibly use it for a middle name, since it sounds like you want to keep it in the family. In Africa it's probably a great name but in the U.S. it could get commented on alot, and not in a positive way.

Mutinta
From: Zambian, Citonga
Unique, Different from All Others:
Pure, Precious, Treasured by God
Malachi 3:17
And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; & I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

At first glance, it reminded me of "mutant", but then again I love the X-men so that is not a bad thing, necessarily.

How do you pronounce it and what does it mean?

Is it Mew-teenta?

Maybe you should give it to a doll or pet; I'm not warming up to it for a person.

Names serve a lot of purposes, and it is a burden to be forced to explain one's name or continually correct people for misspelling or mispronouncing it.
