You need to pick a name, you need to bring a camera to take pictures of the baby when it is born. And you need to have the ambilical cord frozen incase the baby needs stem cells one day so he/she can use its own.

You need to find somebody who will help you with a few meals, laundry, and general household chores for the first couple of weeks because you will be exhausted. I'm not trying to make you nervous, but it is true, you and baby will be up every 3 hours at least for the first 4 weeks because that is how often a newborn needs to be fed. When your baby sleeps during the day, you should too and not have to worry about laundry and dishes. Good idea would be to freeze some casseroles, lasagna now, make pancakes and freeze them too. (they microwave well covered with a paper towel) Buy paper plates and plastic silverware too, cause even though it's bad for the environment, it will save you some headaches for a little while.

Car seat first thing, you will need lots of diapers but be careful and dont stock up on to many newborn sizes as babies grow fast and will out grow them. You will need a good amount of newborn gowns that fits up to 12 months, socks, lots of bibs and very important burp clothes to keep baby and you clean after feedings.Towels and bath clothes for baby.Small and large bottles if you plan to bottle feed and even if you dont you will need a few bottles for water and later on juice.A good crib approved for babies with a mattress that fits the crib for safety.A baby moniter would be useful if baby is not sleeping in the same room with you.A camera for picture taking would also be nice to capture those precious moments. That is all you will need at first.Later on you will need a high chair a playpen, walker, also a nice stroller so you and baby can go for walks on nice days.Sippy cups, baby spoon and plates I like the one with the suction on the back of the plate to keep it from getting thrown onto the floor. You will need cloths and shoes as baby grows. Also now would be a good time to go ahead and look around the home and baby proof the home.Electric sockets need to be covered with outlet covers and all poison house cleaners and meds need to be stored up high in a locked cabinet.Enjoy your new baby

I am currently 8 months pregnant also with my second child. The important things that you need are: a name, a bassinet or a crib, diapers, wipes, plenty of pj’s or outfits, socks, gloves, (they tend to vomit, pee, or poop on themselves), monitor, bottles, car seat, and plenty of blankets. You will need much more but that will be pretty much all the main things that you will need to begin with. And if you are planning to breast feed make sure you get a breast pump.
