I know that as a consumer, it's my responsibility to check prices as well as expiration dates. I'm ticked! My Eggo Waffles are like a week out of date. I know. That shouldn't make a difference. But they taste like it too. :( "Best used by the 28th" was what I read on the box. Today is the 10th of March. I purchased it on yesterday. :( I thought that was what inventory was for?

Yes I do and when I find an item I was going to buy and it is out of date , I take it with me to the cash and then ask to speak to the manager .Why you ask , so the other people in line around me hear about the problem .The more I do this the less often I am finding things past due date, which makes me happy. No use to go home and complain about it ,do something about it right then and there!

Sometimes I hate out of date food, and sometimes I don't.
There's a tiny little grocers' here that sells out of date foods at the regular price--once we got Magic Shell for ice cream that as outdated and awful. There's a bigger grocery store that sells their stuff like Soy milk, or bread, whatever, right before it goes out of date, and if you freeze the food for later use, the quality and flavor is the same. The only difference in that case is price--it's lower by half and I do like that.
Good luck.

Not if they marked it down!!! The expired foods still last a few weeks passed their expiration dates. And if you can freeze them, then you can get some really great bargains!

However, in your case he** yes I'd be upset about that. Having to take it back with gas prices up... You should take them back, demand they give you your full money back PLUS the same product with a good date for FREE! (Ask to speak to the TOP store manager if the one on the floor won't comply).

Yup I hate it too..however, what i do is call them immediately and inform them that what i just purchased was out of date and is bad.. have them take your name and ask for a refund when you return to store..no need to drive all the way back right now. Have had many things refunded that way. Customer Service should be able to handle it for you.

I hate it too! The little rural store in my area would sell yogurt 3 months off. And salad dressing THREE YEARS out of date. I had to check every time I bought something. Don't even get me started on what the produce looked like.

enough people who shop at your store complain, they will be more diligent
Customer service in grocery stores (unless they are high end grocery stores) are pretty lax as far as I am concerned. Ussually stores are really good about exchanging stuff when you bring it to thier attention...shouldn't hav eto but that is how it goes
